About Turn Me On

Two weeks ago, I went to the theatre to watch this movie : Turn Me On. It's a Norwegian teen movie and like any teen movie, it talks about sex (of course).

So basically, Alma gets ignored by everyone after saying that Artur showed her his penis at a party -which he denies. The movie is mostly about how Alma is always thinking about sex (who can blame her, she's 15).

What I liked about the movie ? First of all, I saw it in Norwegian, which I really enjoyed because I'm just a sucker for Germanic languages (how nerd does that sound ?).

Then, I liked how for once, it was for the girls' point of view and showed that teenage girls can also be obsessed with sex ! You cannot deny that most of the time, this type of movie are always about how a bunch of boys are trying to get laid.

And finally, it was indeed really funny. The first scene in the trailer is in fact one of the last scenes in the movie and while it's kind of funny in the trailer, it really is hilarious once you've seen the whole movie.

About Music Tastes

I have very various music tastes. I consider myself to be a metalhead - and I actually mostly listen to metal - but there are a few bands that I really like that are not remotely metal. And most of the time, I even avoid telling people that I like these bands because I don't want to be laughed at.

But for you, I'm going to reveal who these bands are ... Well the ones that would make people laugh at me, no matter the kind of music they listen to are : Tokio Hotel and One Direction. Then, they're the bands that would only seem a mistake to the "real" metalheads : Killerpilze, Good Charlotte, Green and Sum 41. These 4 last bands are not metal but they're not shameful either, from a metalhead's point of view.

You might be wondering why I'm talking about the bands that some people think are shameful to listen to. Well, for this exact reason : because people think listening to some kind of bands can be shameful. When people mock my music taste, I think "why on earth would you be interested in what I listen to ?" or "what does it change for you?". I mean, you don't like mainstream music ? You don't like that type of music ? Then, don't listen to it! And don't feel you have the right to judge someone's taste, especially when you complain that people are too judgemental about the type of music you like.

I've noticed that poeple who listen to types of music that are badly judged or stereotyped (like metal) are the ones who would be the most judgemental about other music genres -and even different genres, in metal for instance. I know, fuck logic, right?

That being said, I'm going to go on listening to the music I like, no matter what, because otherwise I would think I'm cheating on what I am, just to please others.
